LANDFILL TAX RISES TO £48 PER TONNE.

As of the 1st April landfill tax is now £48 per tonne, rising by £8 per year until 2013.
The landfill tax is the responsibility of the landfill site operator, who passes the costs onto businesses and local authorities on top of normal landfill fees.
As of the 1st April landfill tax rates for 2009-2010 have risen to £48 per tonne. This rate will continue to rise by £8 per year until 2013.
You can reduce the amount of landfill tax you pay by;
Minimising waste
Increasing the amount of waste you reuse, recycle and recover.
Seperating waste into its constituent parts, so you can pay the lower rate of landfill tax for some of it.
