NORFOLK BUSINESSES ELIGIBLE FOR FREE ENERGY SAVING SUPPORT THROUGH REV ACTIVE
24 Aug 2010
More than a thousand Norfolk SMEs will have access to REV-ACTive.
More than a thousand Norfolk SMEs will have access to REV-ACTive, a multi-million-pound demonstration project designed to give companies support for energy-saving initiatives.
The project actively targets businesses in Norwich and the A11 corridor that have the potential to significantly cut their utility bills and reduce CO2 emissions.
It's being watched closely as a potential template for efficient SME support nationally.
Businesses that qualify will get free access to package of specialist consultancy and support, including onsite audits, reports and grants to deliver real business benefits around reduced costs, competitiveness and smaller carbon footprints.
Further targeted 'hands on' support and consultancy can be provided to help create or re-engineer processes and products to make bigger or longer term savings and deeper CO2 cuts.
A range of value-added services will also be made available to the wider business community, focusing on self-help and assistance around 'quick wins' in areas such as optimised lighting/heating, changing staff behaviour and collective procurement.
Simon Best, REV-ACTive project manager, said: "Initiatives like REV-ACTive are about business fitness. They reinforce Norfolk's credentials as a county committed to efficient and sustainable low-carbon economic growth.
"The core strength of this initiative is to address market failure by providing free high quality, hands-on assistance to smaller businesses - enabling them to benefit from some of the real efficiency benefits realised by larger companies.
"We welcome businesses who feel they can improve on their energy efficiency or make other savings to sign up and benefit from this project."
